Erika Boyland

Assistant State Conservationist-Programs, Natural Resources Conservation Service

Erika Boyland currently serves as the Assistant State Conservationist - Programs with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) at the State Office in Phoenix, AZ. She received her B.S.and M.S. in Agricultural Sciences with a minor in general business from Tennessee State University. Erika is also a graduate of the California leadership development program and the Arizona Agribusiness & Water Counsel water management program. In her 15-year career, she has worked with NRCS in multiple states and various positions such as a Soil Conservationist in Kentucky, Iowa, District Conservationist in California, Acting Assistant State Conservationist – Field Operations in California and Florida and now her existing position as Assistant State Conservationist for Program. She is responsible for improving delivery of financial assistance programs, improving contract management, and accelerating conservation implementation of natural resources.

She values the range of knowledge she’s gained across multiple states, working with complex natural resources, encouraging diversity and inclusion, and connecting with diverse communities with unique needs and the variable resource concerns. In addition, she has gained a passion for people, conservation, and community.
