This weather has been so interesting. Our day started with a thick fog and occasional warm weather that would snap to cold and rainy. At least we got the carrots picked before it became muddy. 🥕🥕🥕 #whipstonefarm #farmergibstone #knowyourfarmer #prescott #prescottaz #localgrown #paulden #pauldenaz #slowfood #localfood #localgrown #dumptrailer #farmwork

Janna of Pinnacle Farms posts stunning photos of her desert farmland in Laveen, AZ. Janna is driven to work with heirloom southwest varieties like White Sonoran Wheat, Chapalote corn, Maktoom Dates and Rio Bavispe pinto beans (which have almost faded into extinction, never to be seen again), to bring back availability of these seeds and find new uses for them. Janna is a great reminder that farming in AZ is often women’s work and a labor of love.
